About Gitadunia
Gitadunia is a free, open reading of the Bhagavad Gita — all eighteen chapters and roughly seven hundred verses, presented in their original Sanskrit alongside transliteration, Hindi meaning, and English translation, so the text can be read in whichever language feels most natural.
Every verse keeps a stable, shareable address (chapter and shlok number), so a single line can be linked, bookmarked, or sent to someone else exactly as it appears here. The text itself is never altered — this site exists to make the Gita easy to find and read, not to reinterpret it.
The Bhagavad Gita is a conversation between Lord Krishna and the warrior Arjuna, set on the battlefield of Kurukshetra just before a great war. In answering Arjuna's doubt about duty and violence, Krishna lays out teachings on dharma (duty), karma (action), bhakti (devotion), and jnana (knowledge) that have shaped Indian philosophy for over two thousand years and continue to be read, translated, and studied worldwide.
Gitadunia is built to be fast, readable on any device, and easy to navigate verse by verse or chapter by chapter — use the search page to jump straight to a keyword or a specific reference like 2.47.
