हे अर्जुन! सृष्टियों का आदि, अंत और मध्य भी मैं ही हूँ। विद्याओं में मैं अध्यात्मविद्या हूँ, और वाद-विवाद करने वालों में मैं तर्क हूँ।

O Arjuna, I am the beginning, the middle, and also the end of all creations. Among sciences, I am the science of the Self; and among debaters, I am the logic they use.
